Our 2019 March Read

“I always deserve the best treatment, because I never put up with any other.”- Emma Woodhouse, Emma

It's that time of year . . . I get to announce our 2019 March book club pick!

Emma is a dreamy classic I can't wait to get my hands on! I knew from the very first lines ("Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, with a comfortable home and happy disposition, seemed to unite some of the best blessings of existence; and had lived nearly twenty-one years in the world with very little to distress or vex her."), this had to be the next book club read.

March is such a funny month! You're dangling awkwardly between winter and spring- there's no snow but you can't seem to find warm sunshine either. But I'll be content to wait out the weather with a steamy cup of tea and this charming book in my hands.

What's it about?

"Emma Woodhouse is one of Austen's most captivating and vivid characters. Beautiful, spoilt, vain and irrepressibly witty, Emma organizes the lives of the inhabitants of her sleepy little village and plays matchmaker with devastating effect." (Review from Goodreads)

“I always deserve the best treatment, because I never put up with any other.”- Emma Woodhouse, Emma

How I'm reading it:

1. The book

I'm reading this book with my dad, so I have a copy on my Kindle and a physical one.

2. The tea

This month, I'm sipping classic chai tea from K Teas. This is one of my favorite teas! I love the rich flavor, which is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I often add a little honey or sugar to my tea, but I feel like that's not even necessary for this one! It's a looseleaf tea (looseleaf = even better taste), so you can measure out a teaspoon into your mesh tea infuser and let sit in your mug. I've had my white teapot from Capital Teas for several years now, and I love it! Here's a turquoise one I think is adorable.

3. The snacks

Emma is such a cozy book, so what better refreshment than the classic bread and jam? Simply toast with strawberry jelly, this bite to eat is as wholesome and enjoyable as the book we're reading.

I hope you're as excited for this month's book as I am! If you'd like to follow along, just make sure that you've already subscribed to my site. You'll get an email every Thursday and with book-related merch and activities. At the end of the month, we'll throw the best Austen party ever! See you later.
